Bryson- Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey
132-152 When they were strapped to handcuffs Martina left. Then they received a message through a crack to stay put until Milligan got there. When Milligan got there he rode in with a Salamander. So they got in the Salamander, but Milligan had to be put in handcuffs so Kate could live.
