Chantz, 2/3/11, "Forty Acres and A Mule" pgs 111- 132
Today I finished reading the book. The white people took Gideons farm away and told them all the blacks would have to work the farm for free. Gideon and his family took down there house and destroyed most of the farm. They escaped to a cave and stayed there for a few days. The family started a eighty mile journey to try and buy there own farm in the Georgia Islands where some blacks were allowed to buy farms and nobody could take it away. I would recommend reading this book. It is really sad but you will learn a lot about slavery.
